easel you will see a red, white and blue wreath and a ship's
bell next to the speaker's podium. We read the names of all crewmembers and spouses that we knew had passed away in recent months, gave their rank/rating when they served, years of service and date of passing. The bell was rung twice for each person mentioned. Those remembered were: |

I am pleased to announce we have an excellent speaker for our banquet on Thursday night April 23rd. His name is Boyd Box. He is a quality speaker you will enjoy. His presentation will be humorous, motivational, and spiritual. A little about Boyd: Graduated from H.M. King High school in Kingsville, TX. Served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. Graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, TX. I want to encourage everyone to make a special effort to contact some of our past shipmates & encourage them to come to our reunion. Remind everyone that our 2009 reunion in Fredericksburg is Monday April 20th - thru - Thursday April 23rd. Please register for your rooms before March 1,2009. Also, send your registration form before March 1,2009. On Monday the 20th the hospitality room will be open by 10:00 am to welcome everyone as they arrive. Everyone will receive a visitor's package. Please remember to bring a raffle prize for our raffle drawing. Remember "THERE ARE BIG SHIPS AND SMALL SHIPS.
